Write a letter to yourself

Task: Write a letter to yourself.

You are going to write a short letter to future you in 2029 and describe the teacher you want to be.

This letter will be returned to you at the end of the third year and may prove useful in the final professional conversation or as a significant point of reflection.

Letter Writing Prompts:

Dear me,

How am I feeling today?

Good? Bad? Confused? Nervous? Excited? Lost?

Why do I want to be a teacher?

What kind of teacher do I want to be?

What am I looking forward to? What are my hopes?

'What makes an effective teacher?'

Remember these cards...

Directed Task: Write a 400 - 500 response to the question 'What makes an effective teacher?'

This task is to be completed independently. You may wish to use the prompts above to help with the content of your write. Completed writes will be uploaded to Studiosity Validate as a baseline guide for developing your writing style.

Visit the library and collect books

In PMEC51, we will be working toward completing your first assignment, a 1200 word essay.

Essay Title: Critically discuss the professional role of the primary teacher. Focus on three aspects using a range of views and opinions to inform your discussion.

Throughout the module we will be exploring the roles of the professional teacher, understanding the improtance of tghe role and then analysing the evidence around it. In order to 'analyse' appropriate literature is required and the best place for this... is the library!

Task: Borrow books from the education section of library that will help explore the professional role of the primary teacher.
